Last weekend I participated in the Emeralda Island Metric Century. My first long ride in FL and I suffered with cramps 30 miles in. Got to drink more, a LOT more. Somehow hobbled along and was glad to be done with the ride. The course was flat except for one roller that popped out of nowhere. I lost the binding and had to walk up about 25% of the piddly little uphill #$%#$%$%GGRRRR$$@@!!

I could not believe that when we got back they were flagging off a 50 miler at 1:15 PM in the afternoon!!

The ride was lacking in terms of variety and quantity of nutrition and hydration.

The event was not interesting enough to for me to return next year.

Congrats on beating cancer. I'm sorry that you are still feeling the effects from it. Keep your chin up, and keep pushing yourself. :-)
